About this file
This Scope of Services document outlines the requirements for the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Request for Proposals for On-Call Art Handling Services, which seeks to establish contracts with qualified fine art service providers, professional art handlers and preparators, and fine art packing, transportation, and storage providers. LAWA intends to support its LAX Art Exhibitions Program through services including installation, de-installation, fabrication, archival packaging, moving, and storage of small, medium, and large-scale artworks. The RFP is organized into three service categories: Category A covers full-services custom large-scale art installers and fabricators specializing in monumental artwork installation and transportation; Category B addresses professional art preparators for medium and small-scale exhibitions; and Category C focuses on fine art packing, transportation, and storage providers. All selected contractors must obtain security badge clearance through the LAWA Security Badge Office for access to restricted and sterile areas at LAX and other LAWA-controlled facilities, with compliance being mandatory upon contract award. Contractors are responsible for ensuring that they and any subcontractors hold valid, appropriate licenses under California law for any work requiring licensed fabricators, including electrical, engineering, and welding services.
The document does not specify pricing terms, contract amounts, funding sources, response or due dates, site visit requirements, or bidders' conference details. Award dates and contract terms, including any renewal options, are not addressed in this scope of services exhibit. The RFP allows for subcontracting with specialized professionals such as conservators, engineers, electricians, welders, and riggers as needed for particular projects. Interested vendors must register and submit proposals through the Bonfire platform, with ongoing vendor communication available through the Vendor Discussions tab and regular monitoring of the Public Notices tab for updates or addenda.
