About this file
This addendum document pertains to the Corridor-Ashaway bridge replacement project administered by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. The project encompasses the replacement of three bridges in Providence County: Bridge No. 005051 (butted box beam), Bridge No. 005151 (concrete arch), and Bridge No. 005251 (butted box beam), all spanning bodies of water. The scope of work includes bridge demolition, foundation work utilizing piles and micropile systems, prefabricated structural steel tub girders, ultra-high-performance concrete closure pours, abutment and pier construction, deck systems, utility relocations including gas mains, drainage structures, stormwater treatment systems, erosion control measures, ADA-compliant accessibility improvements, guardrails, landscaping, and asphalt and concrete placement. Proposals were due August 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. EDT, with vendor questions due by August 19, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. EDT. The project has phased completion deadlines of November 10, 2027 for the Ashaway River Bridge and August 14, 2028 for the Potter Hill Bridge, with substantial completion required by October 23, 2028. Lump sum item breakdowns are required within 70 days of apparent low bidder notification.
The project is federally funded under the Federal-Aid Highway program with 80% FHWA funding and 20% state funding (FAP Number STP-3334(001)). All work is subject to Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements effective May 18, 2026, and Buy America compliance mandates requiring 55 percent domestic content for manufactured products with a minimal use threshold of $2,500 or 0.1 percent of contract value for foreign materials. Liquidated damages are assessed at $3,500 per day for phase completions and $1,950 per day for substantial completion milestones. Prefabricated bridge units require detailed shop drawings, welding procedures, and quality documentation with specified placement tolerances. Bidders must submit proposals electronically through Ocean State Procures and provide a 5% bid bond and 100% performance bond. Required insurance includes $1,000,000 general liability and workers' compensation coverage. A 0.33% contract administrative fee applies to the contract.
