About this file
This document is an addendum index page for a Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) bridge replacement project titled Corridor-Ashaway, associated with R.I. Contract No. 2026-CB-019 and FAP No. STP3334001. The project encompasses the replacement of three bridges (Bridge No. 005051, a butted box beam; Bridge No. 005151, a concrete arch; and Bridge No. 005251, a butted box beam) spanning bodies of water in Providence County. The scope of work includes extensive erosion control and sediment prevention measures, site preparation, asphalt and concrete placement, and related infrastructure work. Key line items include cofferdams (1 LS), pervious fill (1,310 CY), silt fence (148 LF), compost filter sock (6,600 LF), dewatering equipment and basins, hot mix asphalt preparation and placement totaling approximately 16,400 SY of preparation work and 4,198 tons of HMA, gravel borrow and aggregate materials, full-depth reclamation with calcium chloride (13,750 SY), and guardrail milllings placement (700 LF). Proposals were due August 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. EDT, with vendor questions due August 19, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. EDT. Project completion deadlines are phased, with the Ashaway River Bridge due November 10, 2027 and the Potter Hill Bridge due August 14, 2028, with substantial completion by October 23, 2028.
The project is federally funded under the Federal-Aid Highway program with 80% FHWA funding and 20% state funding. All work is subject to Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements effective May 18, 2026, and Buy America compliance mandates domestic content of 55 percent for manufactured products. A 5% bid bond and 100% performance bond are required. Required insurance includes $1,000,000 general liability and workers' compensation coverage. Liquidated damages are assessed at $3,500 per day for phase completions and $1,950 per day for substantial completion milestones. Lump sum item breakdowns are due within 70 days of apparent low bidder notification. Prefabricated bridge units require detailed shop drawings, welding procedures, and quality documentation with strict placement tolerances (1/4-inch for width and 1/8-inch for bearing elevation). All proposals must be submitted electronically through Ocean State Procures, and a 0.33% contract administrative fee applies.
