About this file
This is an addendum index page for the Corridor-Ashaway project, a bridge replacement initiative managed by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation under Federal-Aid Highway program funding (FAP Number STP-3334(001)). The project involves replacement of three bridges spanning bodies of water in Providence County, with proposals due August 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. EDT. The scope of work encompasses guardrail connections and end treatments, concrete and asphalt sidewalks and driveways, curbing, mailbox post replacement, concrete bounds, riprap installation, and temporary traffic protection. Specific item quantities include eight guardrail connections to end posts, 225 square yards of Portland cement concrete sidewalks, 700 square yards of asphalt concrete sidewalks, 775 linear feet of precast concrete curb, 1,150 square yards of riprap (R-6, R-7, R-8), 24 rural mailbox posts, 16 test pits, and one lump sum mobilization and temporary traffic protection item. The Field Office component is estimated at 31 project manager-office (PMO) units. Phased completion deadlines are November 10, 2027 for the Ashaway River Bridge and August 14, 2028 for the Potter Hill Bridge, with substantial completion required by October 23, 2028.
The project is federally funded with 80 percent FHWA funding and 20 percent state funding. All work is subject to Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements effective May 18, 2026, and Buy America compliance mandates requiring 55 percent domestic content for manufactured products. Liquidated damages are assessed at $3,500 per day for phase completions and $1,950 per day for substantial completion milestones. Lump sum item breakdowns are due within 70 days of apparent low bidder notification. A 5 percent bid bond and 100 percent performance bond are required. Mandatory insurance includes $1,000,000 general liability and workers' compensation coverage. A 0.33 percent contract administrative fee applies to all proposals, which must be submitted electronically through Ocean State Procures, with vendor questions due August 19, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. EDT.
