About UNSPSC 60106209
UNSPSC 60106209 Transportation teaching aids or materials is a Commodity code, but the recent opportunities posted under it do not reflect the code's nominal scope. The source contains seven recent state and local solicitations tagged to this code, and only one—the Citrus County Schools HVAC training equipment procurement—represents educational teaching aids or materials in any sense. The remaining six opportunities involve welding materials and supplies (two multi-year contracts at Collin College and Collin County Community College District in Texas), a Complete Streets local implementation guide (Metropolitan Council, Minnesota), facilities maintenance services for skilled trades (Great Lakes Water Authority, Michigan), a CNC plasma table (Southeastern Technical College, Georgia), a power data logger (Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources, Georgia), and an AI industrial trainer (Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College District). This mismatch suggests the code is being used inconsistently in state and local procurement systems, or that opportunities are being tagged to a higher-level family code that does not accurately reflect the specific commodities being procured.
Geographic activity centers on Texas (Collin College and Collin County Community College District), with additional recent solicitations in Minnesota, Michigan, Georgia, and Mississippi. Issuing bodies are predominantly community colleges and technical colleges, along with one county water department and one metropolitan planning authority. The one opportunity clearly aligned with the code's nominal scope—Citrus County Schools' $49,970 single/sole source procurement for iConnect HVAC training units (two units for the technical college HVAC program)—posted on December 8, 2025, with a response deadline of December 17, 2025. Given the high volume of unrelated opportunities under this code, business development professionals should verify the actual commodity or service scope before pursuing opportunities tagged to UNSPSC 60106209.
