UNSPSC 21102000: Agricultural machinery for cleaning and sorting and grading

UNSPSC 21102000 Agricultural machinery for cleaning and sorting and grading is a Class code that encompasses equipment and machinery used to process and grade agricultural products. The recent state and local opportunities tagged to this code show little activity aligned with its nominal scope. The one recent solicitation present in the database—an Invitation for Bid by Butts County School System for School Nutrition Program food supplies—does not involve agricultural machinery; it seeks packaged food products for school cafeterias. The solicitation is representative of misclassification at the state and local level, where purchasing offices sometimes tag opportunities with codes that do not match the work actually being procured. School districts remain active state and local buyers, but the food bid reflects catering or food service procurement, not the acquisition of cleaning, sorting, or grading equipment.

State and local governments show no recent documented procurement activity under this code for agricultural machinery. The source provides no opportunities from state departments of agriculture, county extension services, farm-cooperative purchasing vehicles, or equipment distributors that would signal active demand for cleaning and sorting equipment. Geographic spread, repeat-buyer patterns, and representative opportunities aligned with the code's actual scope are not supported by recent solicitation data. Firms pursuing opportunities in agricultural equipment procurement should monitor equipment-category codes and agricultural-services codes more closely than this classification currently reflects.
