The Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women awarded the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma a $1,250,000 Project Grant through the Tribal Sexual Assault Services Program (CFDA 16.024). This 5-year continuation grant, starting on October 1, 2023, will enable the Ponca Tribe Victim Service Program to maintain, expand, and enhance culturally supportive sexual assault services for tribal nations within the Kay County service area. Key services to be provided include a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, and community-based, culturally-specific support and services for adult, youth, and child victims of sexual assault, as well as non-offending family members. The goal is to improve responses to sexual assault in Indian Country and promote cultural healing for survivors.
