This new program grant supports the Wind River Family and Community Health Care System in providing enhanced and comprehensive direct intervention and support services to victims of sexual assault within Indian country on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. Under this award, the Northern Arapaho Tribe will deliver culturally-specific, trauma-informed services including crisis intervention advocacy and accompaniment (such as accompanying victims to court, medical facilities, and police departments), direct material assistance, and culturally-specific trauma-informed healing activities. The program will serve adult, youth, and child victims of sexual assault as well as non-offending family and household members.
