FY 2025 NIST Small Business Innovation Research Program Phase I
The FY 2025 NIST Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Phase I is seeking applications from eligible small businesses to explore the technical feasibility of innovative ideas or technologies that can lead to commercially viable products, services, or standards. The program aims to stimulate technological innovation, leverage small businesses to meet federal R&D needs, and increase private sector commercialization of innovations derived from federal research. NIST will evaluate applications based on technical feasibility, commercial potential, and the qualifications of the project team. The deadline for full applications is December 27, 2024. NIST anticipates funding up to 10 cooperative agreement awards of up to $100,000 each, with an additional $6,500 available for Technical and Business Assistance. The research must align with one of NIST's technical program areas or utilize a NIST-patented technology available for licensing. The place of performance for this opportunity is not specified, but it is likely that the work will be conducted at the recipient's facilities.
