About this opportunity

The Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking applications for its Standards Coordination Office Curricula Development Cooperative Agreement Program (SCO CD CAP). The program aims to fund the development of undergraduate and graduate level curricula that incorporate content on documentary standards, standards development, and standardization into seminars, modules, courses, and other learning resources at accredited U.S. higher education institutions. Key requirements include creating sustainable and replicable curriculum approaches, implementing a communication plan to share results, participating in two NIST workshops, and submitting a final summary paper. Applications are due by April 14, 2025 through Grants.gov.

NIST anticipates funding up to 8 awards of up to $100,000 each in fiscal year 2025, with project performance periods of up to 3 years. While cost sharing is not required, it is encouraged and will become binding if included in proposals. The program operates under the Science, Technology, Business and/or Education Outreach (CFDA 11.620) funding opportunity, and awards will be made in the form of cooperative agreements allowing for substantial NIST involvement.
