About this opportunity
Sarasota County is seeking water damage remediation services through an Invitation for Bids (IFB #232449MM) for emergency disaster response across county sites. The procurement will result in up to three contracts for contractors capable of providing comprehensive water damage mitigation services, including securing assets, removing damaged structural components, performing mold remediation, water extraction, and disinfection. Qualified bidders must demonstrate at least two references showing relevant experience within the past seven years and meet specific qualification requirements. Contractors will be expected to mobilize within 24 hours of county notification and perform work during normal business hours, after hours, weekends, and holidays. The procurement requires strict adherence to FEMA guidelines, with work to be conducted following all federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, EPA, and CDC standards. The solicitation is due by July 31, 2024, with an anticipated initial contract term of three years. Pricing will be determined through a detailed pricing table in the OpenGov procurement portal, with monthly or bi-weekly invoicing.
The contract is funded through grant funding, with specific provisions outlined in the Grant Funded Procurement Terms and Conditions document. No specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are mentioned, and local or American business preferences are explicitly noted as not applicable due to grant requirements. Contractors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage, including workers' compensation, commercial general liability, business automobile liability, umbrella/excess liability, and pollution liability, with specific minimum coverage amounts. The solicitation includes strict security protocols, requiring background checks and compliance with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) security policies. Subcontractors must receive prior written approval from the county, and all work will be warranted for one year from completion. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the contract allows for emergency water damage remediation services on an as-needed basis across Sarasota County, including the Siesta Key CDP area, suggesting potential for significant operational flexibility and financial opportunity for qualified contractors.
