About this opportunity

The state and local contract opportunity, issued by Camden County, Georgia, is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the St Marys Welcome Center New Concrete Porch Deck & Handicap Ramp project. The procurement seeks a contractor to remove the existing entry deck and handicap ramp, and construct a new CMU stem wall, concrete porch deck, and concrete handicap ramp. Key deliverables include developing and submitting design drawings and permit documentation in compliance with state, county, and city building codes. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, construction equipment, and installation activities necessary to complete the project. The project requires comprehensive design and construction services, with a specified contract time of 120 consecutive calendar days from the formal Notice to Proceed issued by the City of St. Marys. The proposal is due by April 24, 2025, with the opportunity initially posted on March 24, 2025. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring all work conforms to the project scope, concept exhibits, and notes while complying with local, state, and federal regulations.

While specific set-aside designations or restrictions are not explicitly detailed in the provided information, the project appears to be a standard public works construction contract open to qualified contractors. The potential award is for a complete renovation of the welcome center's entry area, which likely represents a moderate-scale municipal infrastructure improvement project. Although a specific budget range is not specified, the comprehensive nature of the project—including design, permitting, demolition, and new construction—suggests a potentially significant investment. The project's focus on accessibility improvements, particularly the handicap ramp, indicates a commitment to ensuring public facility compliance with accessibility standards. Interested contractors will need to demonstrate technical capabilities in architectural design, concrete construction, accessibility compliance, and municipal project management to be competitive for this opportunity.
