About this opportunity

The Louisville Regional Airport Authority is soliciting bids for selective demolition and renovation of the Departures Ticket Hall at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in Jefferson County, Kentucky, with bids due June 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. — a deadline that has passed as of today's date. Addendum 3, issued June 23, 2026, clarifies that prevailing wage (Davis Bacon) requirements do not apply and that liquidated damages are $250,000 per day for Kentucky Derby milestones under a specified completion date contract with delivery by April 29, 2029.

The scope spans selective demolition and comprehensive renovation of the Departures Ticket Hall, including structural modifications, mechanical and electrical system upgrades, temporary support systems for ongoing baggage-handling operations, installation of flight information display systems with owner-supplied electrical drivers and contractor-procured displays and cabling, hollow metal doors and frames, 30 metal lockers (3-tier units), weighing and wrapping equipment with standard 24-inch by 24-inch temporary scales, communications room equipment with 4-post racks and cabinets, and expansion joint systems. The contractor must maintain 99.99 percent system uptime during the warranty period and coordinate work to minimize airport operational disruption. Baggage handling by porters operates 3:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily. Temporary barrier systems must achieve a Sound Transmission Class of 21. Addendum 2 (June 19) extended the original April 29, 2027 completion date to April 29, 2029 and revised project phasing and specifications. Addendum 1 (June 11) and Addendum 3 (June 23) provided technical clarifications and accepted substitutions for expansion joint systems manufactured by Erie Metal Specialties and Balco/CSW Industrials.

Sealed bids require an irrevocable Bank Letter of Credit or Bid Bond (minimum 10% of aggregate bid amount). Electronic submission occurred through flylouisvillebids.com. Site walks were scheduled for June 3, 4, and 9, 2026. The Authority encourages project labor agreements and local employment for non-supervisory personnel. A no-contact policy prohibits direct communication with Board members or employees regarding the bid, except through the designated point of contact.
