About this opportunity

Columbus Consolidated Government in Georgia is soliciting proposals under RFP No. 27-0016 for automotive body repair and paint services on an annual contract basis, with proposals due December 2, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern. Vendors must be located within Muscogee County, a local-location requirement that filters the field before capability is weighed.

The City will award a primary and a secondary contractor, selected from the two lowest responsive, responsible vendors who best meet the specifications, to repair and paint all types of vehicles used by City departments on an as-needed basis. Service standards include diagnosis within 24 hours of initial call, repair completion within 72 hours, certified technicians, itemized invoices, and secure vehicle storage. The successful vendor must possess paint application systems, frame and unibody measuring devices, hydraulic equipment, welding capability, vehicle elevation equipment, four-point anchoring systems, suspension and drivetrain removal and reinstallation capability, steering alignment equipment, and air conditioning evacuation and recharge equipment. All repairs carry a lifetime warranty.

Shop labor is priced hourly, with parts, paint, and supplies billed either at cost or at the vendor's markup rate, at the vendor's discretion. The initial term is two years, with three additional twelve-month renewal options contingent on mutual agreement and funding appropriations. Either party may terminate with 90 days' prior written notice.

Proposals are weighted as follows: Qualifications and Experience (40%), Client Work History (25%), Service Plan (15%), Warranty (15%), and Cost Proposal (5%). Required insurance includes general liability, automobile liability, products liability, and umbrella/excess liability of $1 million each, with the City named as additional insured. A notarized E-Verify Affidavit is mandatory. Submissions are electronic through OpenBids (formerly DemandStar).
