About this opportunity
Broward County is requesting proposals for a Project Specialist for Spanish Speaking Travel Trade to serve the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, with proposals due September 11, 2026 (revised by Addendum No. 2). This is an open-end contract with no guaranteed minimum quantity; the County reserves the right to issue purchase orders as needed or procure from alternative sources.
The scope covers bilingual (English and Spanish) in-market marketing and travel-trade development targeting tour operators, travel advisors, and public relations professionals in Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico during the period June 2026 through September 2027. The specialist must coordinate participation in industry events including ANATO, Visit Florida Roadshows, Brand USA events, and Visit USA trainings; organize bespoke sales missions in select Colombian and Argentinian cities; secure booth space and event logistics; maintain comprehensive databases of tour operators, travel advisors, airlines, cruise lines, and media contacts; deliver quarterly research reports on outbound travel trends and biannual audits of Visit Lauderdale product sales; manage all event expenses with itemized breakdowns and post-event reporting; and become a Lauderdale Loyalist upon award. The vendor must perform 100 percent of the work without subcontracting.
The estimated contract budget is $99,900. The initial contract term runs one year from award, with renewal contingent on advance notice. Award will be made on best overall value rather than price alone. Evaluation criteria are vendor qualifications and professional personnel experience, project approach and methodology with itemized event expenses and fees, past performance on similar projects within three years with minimum three references, and workload capacity to manage timely delivery within budget.
Vendors must submit all responses, including optional documentation, electronically through BPRO by September 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. and receive a Submission Receipt. Questions are due by the specified date through BPRO. The Vendor Questionnaire must be submitted concurrently with the proposal or within three business days of County request. Commercial General Liability insurance with the County named as Additional Insured, Business Automobile Liability, and Workers' Compensation are required; proof must accompany the proposal or within three business days of request. No SBE, MBE, WBE, or CBE set-asides apply.
