About this opportunity
Palm Beach County's Capital Improvements Division is soliciting qualifications for an annual painting and weatherproofing contract, with a not-to-exceed cumulative value of $3 million and an initial five-year term; the qualification application deadline is January 26, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., though the posting date of July 24, 2026 indicates this is a rolling, open-entry qualification list that remains active throughout the contract term. The procurement includes S/M/WBE participation requirements as detailed in contract documents.
To qualify, contractors must hold a valid Florida-certified or Florida-registered building contractor's license, a valid certified or registered general contractor's license, or Palm Beach County Contractor Regulations Division registration as a painting and weatherproofing installer for a minimum of two years. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of two years of relevant business experience and have successfully completed at least eight painting and weatherproofing projects of similar scope and complexity totaling at least $150,000 in workload per year for each of the previous two years. Principal, supervisory, and project-management personnel must have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in projects of similar scope and complexity.
Work Orders are anticipated to be generally less than $100,000 each, though larger projects are possible. Bonding requirements are not required with the qualification package but will be specified in subsequent Work Order Invitations for Quote/Bid.
The County reserves the right to accept or reject any applications and will act upon submissions within 20 business days of receipt. Contractors may submit qualification applications at any time during the contract term. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference was scheduled for January 5, 2023. Submission address is Palm Beach County Facilities Development and Operations Department, Capital Improvement Division, 2633 Vista Parkway, West Palm Beach, Florida. Contact: FDO-CID-Bids@pbcgov.org or (561) 233-0261.
