About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Financial Services is seeking to develop a list of authorized contractors for its My Safe Florida Home (MSFH) Program. The objective of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to identify licensed, certified, and insured contractors who are willing to complete various home hardening activities, including opening protection, door upgrades, gable-end bracing, roof-to-wall connections, roof-deck attachments, roof covering upgrades, and secondary water barriers. Eligible contractors must be licensed and certified by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation as a General Contractor, Building Contractor, Residential Contractor, or Roofing Contractor (for roofing repairs only). The Department will publish the list of authorized contractors on the MSFH Program website, and homeowners will use this list to select a contractor to perform the authorized work. The MSFH Program is anticipated to continue through October 2024 or until program funding is exhausted.
The Department will not enter into contracts with the authorized contractors, but will create mandatory MSFH Program-specific language that must be included in the contracts between the authorized contractors and homeowners. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and the Department has not listed any incumbent vendors or current contractors. The MSFH Program is funded by the state of Florida, but the specific award values or budget ranges have not been provided.
Opportunity text
Dear Florida Contractor,
We would like to cordially invite you to participate in the 2022-2024 My Safe Florida Home Program.
The program will be offering free home hurricane inspections to Florida homeowners statewide and we are seeking out certified contractors (Certified General Contractors, Certified Building Contractors, Certified Residential Contractors and Roofing Contractors) who agree to participate from a list of participating contractors on our website, so homeowners can locate and contract with them to make recommended improvements based on their Wind Inspection Report provided by the Department's contracted Inspectors.
In order to be listed, Contractors must first enroll. Please visit the My Safe Florida Home Contractor Registration form to submit your information.
We thank you in advance for your consideration to participate in the program and lend a hand to Florida Homeowners in helping them "Get Readier" for the next storm.
For more program information, please review the document attached to this advertisement.
