About this opportunity
Granite School District in Salt Lake County, Utah, is seeking multiple vendors to provide comprehensive musical instrument repair services through a Request for Proposals (RFP) designated as AP26-012. The procurement covers repair services for five instrument categories: Woodwinds, Brass, Strings, Percussion, and Modern/Rhythm Section Instruments, with vendors able to bid on one or more categories. Required services include routine maintenance, minor repairs, and major restorations, with detailed technical requirements outlined in the proposal documents. Proposals will be evaluated across five weighted criteria: Repair Process and Workflow (25 points), Customer Service and Communication (25 points), Billing and Invoicing (15 points), Quality Assurance (20 points), and Experience and References (20 points), with a minimum score of 57 points required for award. The RFP was posted on December 2, 2025, with proposals due by January 6, 2026, and must be submitted through the Utah Public Procurement Place (U3P). The initial contract term is one year, with options to renew annually for up to four additional years, contingent on vendor agreement.
There are no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on participating organizations mentioned in the procurement documents. Vendors must maintain workers' compensation insurance at statutory limits and commercial general liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence, and must participate in the E-Verify employment verification system. While no specific budget range is detailed, the sample price list includes extensive pricing categories for hundreds of instrument repair services, suggesting flexibility in potential contract values. Vendors are required to submit both technical and cost proposals, with pricing structured to accommodate hourly labor rates and fixed-price service offerings. The district reserves the right to make multiple awards and to reject any proposal that does not meet performance requirements, with a 30-day written notice provision for contract termination. Proposing vendors must demonstrate experience with school instrument repairs, provide at least two current or recent school client references, and comply with all applicable federal and state employment laws.
