About this opportunity
The City of Green Bay, Wisconsin, through its Department of Public Works and Redevelopment Authority, is seeking bids for Audio-Visual (A/V) system upgrades at the KI Convention Center located at 333 Main Street. The project involves comprehensive demolition and replacement of existing A/V infrastructure, including removing current equipment from Ballrooms A and B, the Exposition Hall, and west end meeting rooms and auditoriums. Specific technical requirements include replacing Cat 5 cabling with new Cat 6 cabling and jacks in floor boxes, installing new A/V electronics within existing equipment racks, replacing loudspeakers using existing cabling, and adding new XLR jacks. Contractors must be prepared to replace ceiling tiles as needed to accommodate new speaker installations, ensuring compliance with Section 09 51 13 Acoustical Panel Ceilings specifications. The sealed bid deadline was September 28, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., with a pre-bid meeting held on September 15, 2021, at the convention center. All project work must be completed by April 30, 2022, and the contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting the lowest acceptable base bid.
Bidders must submit a bid deposit between 5-10% of the total bid amount and, if awarded the contract, provide a performance bond equal to 100% of the contract price within 10 days. The project requires compliance with Wisconsin Statutes, including provisions for public works construction, contractor liens, and proof of responsibility. Contractors must also meet substance abuse prevention requirements per Wisconsin Statutes Section 103.503. Insurance requirements are comprehensive, including Commercial General Liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate), Automobile Liability ($1,000,000 per accident), Workers' Compensation at statutory limits, Employers' Liability ($1,000,000 per accident), and Contractor's Pollution Liability ($1,000,000). The contract will be structured using the AIA Document A105-2017 Standard Short Form of Agreement between Owner and Contractor, with the City of Green Bay named as an additional insured on all policies. While no specific set-aside designations were mentioned, the detailed technical and compliance requirements suggest the project is suited for experienced A/V and construction contractors with specific technical capabilities.
