About this opportunity
Walworth County is requesting bids on the buildout of a white-box storage area into three offices for the District Attorney at the Judicial Center under RFB #26-024, with bids due June 1, 2026.
The scope includes selective demolition, installation of two borrowed lites to the existing corridor, modification of lighting, HVAC, and fire sprinkler systems, and extension of power and data utilities. Interior construction consists of metal stud walls with gypsum wallboard and sound batt insulation; finishes include carpet, paint, and ceiling tiles. A separate bid item covers a chain link enclosure around storage shelving in the basement. Detailed architectural and engineering drawings, project manual specifications, and construction standards are provided in attached documentation.
Contractors must obtain daily access keys from the County's electronic key box system and return them each day. Work is restricted to hours when the County actively occupies the building. Penetrations in the south wall must remain covered with rigid material to maintain access control. Non-employee access to tools that could function as weapons is prohibited. Fire protection work and door hardware modifications require County advance approval. The General Contractor is responsible for managing all subcontractors, including background checks and compliance with facility protocols. Subcontractors must submit bids in writing to the general contractor at least 48 hours prior to bid closing per Wisconsin Statute Section 66.0901(7); any subcontracts proposed after bid submission require written County consent prior to execution.
Material or product substitutions may be requested pre-bid using the Substitution Request Form submitted to Carolyn Holt, Senior Buyer, with the submitting contractor assuming responsibility for coordination and additional costs. A pre-bid meeting was held and attended by interested contractors. No blackout dates for contractor work have been identified.
