About this opportunity
The Oregon Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the I-84: Farewell Bend Chain Up Paving Project, a comprehensive road infrastructure improvement initiative focused on pavement rehabilitation. The project involves cold plane pavement removal and inlay of 12-foot wide chain up areas for both eastbound and westbound lanes, including necessary traffic control management. The procurement is structured with a base bid and two additive alternates to maximize potential work completion within available funding constraints. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder based on the combined totals of the base bid and potential alternates. Key deliverables include precise 4" asphalt concrete pavement (ACP) removal, precise inlay installation, and comprehensive traffic control measures. The bid is posted on February 24, 2025, with a submission deadline of March 20, 2025. Bidders must carefully review all attached documents, including Attachments A, B, C, and D, which provide detailed technical specifications, special provisions, project plans, and pricing forms.
Specific organizational restrictions or set-aside designations are not explicitly outlined in the provided documentation. The procurement appears to be open to qualified contractors with appropriate road construction and infrastructure renovation capabilities. While no specific disadvantaged enterprise requirements are mentioned, standard state procurement protocols likely apply. The project's potential award value is not directly specified, but the use of base and alternate bids suggests flexibility in scope based on available funding. Interested contractors will need to demonstrate technical expertise in highway pavement rehabilitation, traffic management, and asphalt inlay techniques. The project's location at Farewell Bend suggests a rural highway improvement context, potentially requiring specialized equipment and experienced road construction teams. Bidders should thoroughly review the attached documents, particularly the Special Provisions and Project Plans, to fully understand the technical requirements and project specifications.
