About this opportunity
The City of Griffin, Georgia is seeking bids on the Griffin Spalding Wayfinding Signage Project for the fabrication and delivery of 39 directional signs to be placed throughout Spalding County and the City of Griffin under ITB 22-006, with bids due January 4, 2022. All signs must receive Georgia Department of Transportation approval, which has been obtained.
The scope consists of 39 directional wayfinding signs in four standard sizes (small, medium, large, and extra-large) with dimensions of 18.72 feet wide by 7 feet 8 inches tall. All signs must incorporate breakaway safety systems, reflective material for night visibility, and aluminum tube frames. The project includes two identical copies of sign number 28. The contractor is responsible for fabrication and delivery only; the City's Public Works Department handles installation on concrete bases. Contractor must provide fabricated foundation anchor cages matching the exact bolt pattern for each sign and comply with GDOT Standard Specification 9054a, with all materials and fastening hardware in A709 Grade 36 Galvanized Steel. Bidders must submit separate line items for production and delivery. A minimum of three references from similar projects completed within the past 3–4 years are required, with at least one GDOT project reference.
The budgeted project amount is $100,000. Proposals must remain valid for a minimum of 90 days following submission. The contract term is one year with four renewal options totaling five years. The contractor must maintain $1,000,000 Commercial General Liability and $1,000,000 Automobile Insurance coverage and comply with Georgia's E-Verify requirements for labor and services exceeding $2,499.99. Liquidated damages of 1 percent per day apply for non-compliance, capped at $500 daily. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and make awards based on responsive and responsible criteria rather than lowest price alone. Installation is anticipated for February or March 2022. Questions must be submitted via email to Sherri Huggins, Procurement Coordinator, at shuggins@cityofgriffin.com, with responses provided through published addenda.
