About this opportunity

The University of Georgia Facilities Management Division, on behalf of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, is soliciting design services through a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process for the "Extension of Chilled Water from DEP1 to Brumby and Russell Hall" project. This two-stage procurement process requires interested design firms to first submit team qualifications, after which selected firms will be invited to submit detailed proposals for design services. The project scope includes installing underground chilled water piping from the DEP1 facility to Russell Hall and reworking mechanical rooms in both Brumby and Russell Hall to accommodate new chilled water connections while demolishing existing chiller plants. All responses must be submitted by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, with six copies sent to the University of Georgia Procurement Office at 424 East Broad Street, Room 301, Athens, Georgia 30602. Addendums One and Two have been issued as of February 4 and February 26, 2014, respectively, with the bid closing date remaining unchanged. The estimated project cost is $3,000,000, and qualified design firms should demonstrate relevant experience and capability in mechanical systems design and campus infrastructure projects.

No specific set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise restrictions, or incumbent vendor information is provided in the procurement documentation. The project will be executed by the University of Georgia as the user and owner, with work performed at the DEP1 facility and the targeted residential halls. The estimated budget of $3,000,000 represents the overall project cost, though the specific design services contract award value is not explicitly stated in the available materials. Interested firms should obtain the complete Request for Qualifications from the Georgia Procurement Registry website to understand all submission requirements, evaluation criteria, and technical specifications for this infrastructure improvement project.
