About this opportunity
This notice is for an emergency contract extension for fiber maintenance services with Meade, Inc. on behalf of the Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT). The original emergency contract was required due to the need to relocate DoIT's fiber network from the James R. Thompson Center (JRTC) basement, which was recently sold to Google. This relocation work, along with ongoing statewide fiber maintenance services provided by Meade, are critical to maintaining the state's fiber network and avoiding prolonged outages. The extension will allow DoIT to complete the JRTC fiber relocation and provide continued statewide fiber maintenance coverage while a new competitive procurement is finalized. The extension is from June 1, 2024 through July 31, 2024 with no increase in the original contract amount of $1,050,000.
The contract has Businesses Enterprise Program (BEP) and Veteran Small Business (VSB) participation goals of 35% and 1% respectively. Meade, Inc. is the incumbent vendor providing these critical fiber maintenance services. The extension allows DoIT to maintain its existing fiber network infrastructure while preparing for a new competitive procurement process in the future.
