About this opportunity
The City of Ocala is soliciting quotes through Request for Quotation #GRM/250775 for the demolition and removal of a structure located at 1948 NW 1ST Street in Ocala, Florida. The procurement seeks qualified Florida-licensed General, Residential, or Building Contractors to completely demolish and remove an existing structure, associated improvements, overgrowth, and junk from the property. Contractors must have a minimum of three years' experience in demolition services and are highly encouraged to conduct a site visit prior to bid submission. The project requires comprehensive services including terminating utility connections, grading the property, leveling the ground, and properly disposing of fuel tanks, septic tanks, and water wells. Key qualifications include carrying Commercial General Liability insurance with $1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate limits, Commercial Automotive Liability with a $1,000,000 combined limit, and Workers' Compensation per Florida statutory requirements. The bid will be awarded on a lump sum basis to the lowest responsive bidder meeting all outlined requirements, with a 60-day completion timeline from the City-issued Notice to Proceed. The proposal is due by July 7, 2025, with a permit allowance of $104.
There are no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on enterprise types for this contract. The project will require the selected contractor to perform at least 30% of the work with their own forces and will be subject to liquidated damages of $100 per calendar day for failing to complete the work within the specified timeframe. An asbestos survey has been conducted, which revealed no asbestos-containing materials in the structure, though contractors are advised to treat any previously unidentified suspect materials with caution. The project documents include several key exhibits: a detailed Scope of Work, an Asbestos Survey Report, photographs of the structure, and a Price Proposal form. While a specific award value is not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the project suggests a moderately sized demolition contract typical of municipal infrastructure maintenance. The contract appears to be structured for direct execution by the City of Ocala, with all work to be performed within the specified property location in Marion County, Florida.
