About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Public Health Epidemiology Section issued a solicitation for a Community Paramedic to provide follow-up care services to high-risk stroke patients in District 6 East Central Georgia Health District (Columbia, Jefferson, and Richmond Counties, with focus on Augusta), with bids originally due February 1, 2023 — but this solicitation was cancelled on February 2, 2023 due to the need to redevelop requirements.
The scope was a single contract for a Community Paramedic working collaboratively with Augusta University Hospital to implement and evaluate an innovative Community Paramedicine Program. The contractor's Community Paramedic would deliver follow-up care services to high-risk stroke patients with hypertension discharged home or with home health services from Augusta University Medical Center. Service delivery included post-discharge monitoring, care coordination, and outcome evaluation using structured patient-tracking documentation (demographics, visit frequency, comorbidity flags including diabetes and hypercholesterolemia, telehealth engagement, mental health screening via PHQ-9, and COVID-19 vaccination status).
The solicitation was cancelled by Issuing Officer Arnaz Fanning. All materials submitted in response remain closed pending a subsequent rebid. Georgia Department of Public Health indicated that suppliers will be required to respond to new bid forms and revised requirements if the state proceeds with a new solicitation. Upon issuance of a Notice of Intent to Award for any subsequent solicitation, procurement records will be made available in accordance with Section I.6 of the Georgia Procurement Manual.
