About this opportunity
The City of Sandy Springs, Georgia is requesting bids for the Windsor Parkway Sidewalk Project (S2161), a sidewalk and drainage construction project with bids due October 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM EST via the Bonfire Portal. Bidders must be pre-qualified prime contractors listed by the Georgia Department of Transportation and must perform at least 51 percent of the work directly — a core eligibility filter.
The scope encompasses approximately 2,940 linear feet of 6-foot-wide sidewalk with a 2-foot-wide landscape strip, curb, and gutter along the south side of Windsor Parkway from the intersection with Dalmer Road to existing sidewalk at 727 Windsor Parkway. Drainage improvements include 1,739 linear feet of 18-inch reinforced concrete pipe, 16 new catch basins, one reconstructed catch basin, one new drop inlet, one manhole, culvert extension, two parapet walls, and related appurtenances. Water distribution system work is governed by Georgia Department of Transportation special provisions requiring all materials to be NSF 61 Certified, comply with American Water Works Association, American Society for Testing and Materials, and American National Standards Institute standards, and be listed on the GDOT Qualified Products List. The contractor must hold either a valid Georgia Utility Contractor's license or Master Plumber license for water service line installation.
Contract duration is 365 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The project is funded through the Sandy Springs TSPLOST program. Bid bonds are required for bids exceeding $100,000. Performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the total contract price are required upon award. Liquidated damages are assessed at $500 per day for unexcused delays in achieving substantial completion, with additional daily penalties of $1,000 for failure to reopen lanes and $2,000 for failure to provide temporary vehicular driveway access. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for September 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM Eastern Time via Microsoft Teams. Written questions are due by September 17, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Bid evaluation is scheduled for November 3, 2026.
