About this opportunity
Draper City's Engineering Division in Utah is soliciting electronic bids for the 2026 Storm Drain Repair Project, with questions due November 5, 2026 and bids due November 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM through the Utah Public Procurement Place (U3P). A mandatory pre-bid site examination is required. No set-aside, preference, or local-vendor restriction appears in the source.
The scope covers all labor, materials, tools, and equipment to remove, replace, and repair storm drain pipe, inlet boxes, frames, grates, collars, and associated asphalt at multiple locations throughout Draper City. The bid schedule includes 22 line items spanning traffic control, storm water pollution prevention plans, removal, concrete repairs and installation, pipe installation, and asphalt paving. Specified work sequencing covers Suncrest Drive, Traverse Ridge Road, Camden Park Lane, Rocky Mouth Lane, and Ranch Circle, with certain locations switchable pending precast box availability. Work at Suncrest Drive, Traverse Ridge Road, and Rocky Mouth Lane is compensated as lump sums that include curb, gutter, sidewalk, and stamped concrete. Work must conform to Draper City Standard Specifications and Details for Municipal Construction (2026 edition) and MUTCD traffic control requirements, and the contractor must submit a traffic control plan at least two working days before work begins. The contractor bears construction staking at its sole cost, and the contractor is responsible for material testing except acceptance testing, which the City performs.
Bonding requires a 5% bid bond, plus performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price, with bond duration extending one year past project completion. Liquidated damages are $2,000 per day for completion beyond 60 calendar days. Work must commence no later than November 23, 2026, and the contractor must begin at three Suncrest locations first to beat anticipated snowfall. Progress payments are monthly, with final payment conditioned on subcontractor, supplier, and laborer payment affidavits and material inspection and testing reports. Bid results are posted within 24 hours of opening, showing only firm names and total bid amounts. Award is subject to City Council approval.
