About this opportunity
The Evans County Commissioners are seeking sealed bids for the 2025 Evans County Road Improvements Project, a comprehensive road resurfacing initiative covering approximately 24.4 miles across multiple roads including Old Hwy 250, AD Eason Road, Jim O'Rogers Road, and several others. The project requires a contractor to complete milling, 4-inch deep patching, bituminous tack coat, leveling, striping, traffic control, and fine grading of a boat landing parking lot. Sealed bids will be received until March 5th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Evans County Commissioners Office in Claxton, GA, with a total contract completion timeframe of 180 calendar days. Bidders must submit a bid bond or certified cashier's check for 10% of the base bid and obtain project specifications from Parker Engineering, LLC for a non-refundable fee of $100 per full-size set. The procurement allows for comprehensive road infrastructure improvements, with potential evaluation criteria including bid responsiveness, technical capability, and overall project understanding.
The contract opportunity does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The project will be funded through multiple sources including GDOT-LMIG, TIA, and Evans County Commissioners, suggesting potential flexibility for various contractor sizes and capabilities. The Evans County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities, indicating a competitive selection process. While specific budget ranges are not detailed, the extensive road improvements suggest a substantial infrastructure investment. Contractors will be required to comply with E-Verify regulations and provide performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price. The procurement appears open to qualified contractors with demonstrated capability in road resurfacing, infrastructure improvement, and municipal construction projects.
