About this opportunity

The City of Warrenton is seeking bids for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Project No. 24b-x-149-2-6380, focusing on infrastructure improvements in Wilcox County, Georgia. The procurement involves comprehensive sidewalk and storm drainage construction work along Academy, Allen, Brinkley, and Norwood Streets. Specific project deliverables include installing 670 square yards of concrete sidewalk, 1,066 linear feet of curb & gutter, 5 driveway aprons, 1,220 feet of storm drain pipe, and 3,450 square yards of 1.5" asphalt overlay. Sealed bids will be received until 10:00 AM on Friday, October 3rd, 2025, at the Warrenton Depot Welcome Center, with a total project completion timeline of 180 calendar days. Bidders must possess a valid Georgia "Utility Contractor" license and comply with specific requirements, including using the E-Verify federal work authorization program.

The project is subject to several key restrictions and compliance mandates, including adherence to the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA), which requires all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials to be produced in the United States. Bidders must submit a bid bond or certified cashier's check for 10% of the base bid, and successful contractors will be required to provide performance and payment bonds. The project falls under Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968, which may provide preferences for local hiring and business opportunities. While specific budget details are not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the infrastructure improvements suggests a substantial project investment. The City of Warrenton reserves the right to reject any or all bids based on various evaluation criteria, ensuring flexibility in the procurement process and maintaining high standards for project execution.
