The Morocco Climate Program seeks concept papers from local Moroccan organizations to support locally-led climate action addressing climate impacts and empowering women, youth, and other stakeholders to lead community solutions. The US Agency for International Development Morocco will evaluate submissions based on locally-led development approaches and achievement of climate objectives. Eligible applicants include locally-based non-profit organizations located in the Fes-Meknes, Souss-Massa, and Oriental regions of Morocco that have not previously received over $5 million from USAID. Concept papers are due by November 3, 2023.
Subject to available funding, USAID/Morocco intends to award up to $2.7 million to a single local prime partner over three to five years. Performance will take place in communities within the eligible regions of Morocco as applicants propose locally-defined solutions to climate challenges such as water scarcity through system-strengthening approaches promoting gender equality and women's leadership.
