About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration is seeking a firm-fixed-price contract for renovation work at the Bangor Community-Based Outpatient Clinic, specifically targeting radiation shielding installation in Room 1404 for dental imaging equipment and electrical modifications in Room 1709 for future x-ray equipment. The project requires contractors to provide all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, and permits to complete the construction modifications. Interested businesses must submit four critical components by August 28, 2024 at 3:00 pm EST: a statement of intent with SAM UEI number, evidence of medical facility construction experience with projects over $100,000, proof of prime contractor experience in demolition and electrical work, and documentation of professional liability insurance. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit their complete response by September 5, 2024 at 12:00 pm EST to the designated contracting specialist, Diane Davis. The evaluation will focus on verifying contractor qualifications and capabilities to execute the specialized medical facility construction work.

The opportunity is initially set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs), Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs), and small businesses under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 238990, which has a small business size standard of $19 million. The contract will only be set aside if adequate interest is received from qualifying small businesses. While specific award value is not explicitly stated, the project involves complex medical facility modifications with radiation shielding requirements and electrical work. The total project timeline is anticipated to be 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with work restricted to normal business hours and requiring close coordination with the VA's Contracting Officer's Representative. Potential contractors must demonstrate specialized experience in medical facility construction, including precise radiation shielding installation and electrical system modifications.
