This is a Pre-Solicitation announcement to inform potential offerors of the Department of Veterans Affairs intent to advertise for bids the project entitled Upgrade Physical Security, Campus Wide Project No. 515-21-105 to be accomplished at the Battle Creek Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) located in Battle Creek, MI. An Invitation for Bid (IFB) is planned to be issued on or about May 27, 2022. The project s general scope of work is to furnish all necessary labor, tools, miscellaneous materials, equipment, and supervision as specified in drawings and specifications project for the upgrading of physical security deficiencies across the campus of the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. The project will upgrade campus security based on the VA s new Physical Security Guidelines and will cover multiple buildings and exterior areas across campus. The project will also include a new permanent guard shelter to replace the current shelter. The new guard shelter will provide both vehicular and pedestrian screening. The period of performance for the project is Four Hundred Twenty (420) calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. Complete details of the project requirements will be provided via issuance of the solicitation. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a small business size standard of $39.5 million. Magnitude of cost for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract within 120 days from bid opening date.
