About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA) is seeking a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to upgrade the fire alarm system campus-wide at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System in Waco, Texas. The project involves completely replacing the existing fire alarm system with Notifier equipment that will communicate through a new main Honeywell/Notifier panel in Building 225. Specific contract requirements include installing new fire alarm panels with printed labels, implementing voice command notifications, and ensuring equipment is not located in IT closets. The contract will require comprehensive installation, testing, and commissioning services to meet all operational and compliance standards. The solicitation is expected to be posted on June 24, 2025, with responses due by June 23, 2025, and the point of contact for the project is Stephanie Ingersoll.
The contract is 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and falls under NAICS code 236220 with a small business size standard of $45 million. The project is estimated to be valued between $5 million and $10 million, representing a significant infrastructure investment for the medical center. The project will be conducted in phases while maintaining continuous 24/7 medical center operations, which adds complexity to the potential contractor's implementation strategy. The procurement will require a contractor capable of executing a complex, multi-phase upgrade to the facility's fire alarm infrastructure without disrupting critical healthcare services. The Statement of Work (SOW) detailing specific technical requirements and implementation guidelines will be posted with the full solicitation, providing potential bidders with comprehensive project specifications.
