About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command seeks replacement of a wrong way sensor detection system at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, with quotes due August 24 at 10:00 AM EST. The procurement is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS 561621, Security Systems Services.

Place of performance is Shaw AFB, SC 29152. The work covers removal of existing sensors and installation of upgraded Commercial Off-The-Shelf replacement sensors at three Access Control Points (Main Gate, 441 Gate, and Sumter Gate) that integrate with current Gate House controls and existing infrastructure without modification. Contractors may offer technically equivalent or superior detection architectures, including alternative technologies such as radar-based systems, and are not required to provide exact replacements. The system must reliably detect wrong-way entry by vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles without false alarms. No trenching, excavation, new conduit installation, or system redesign is permitted. Work must comply with the National Electrical Code and National Electrical Safety Code. Delivery is required within 60 calendar days from receipt of order, with a minimum one-year warranty on all materials and workmanship.

Evaluation is based on technical acceptability and price, with the government evaluating the lowest five offers first. All quotes must include firm-fixed pricing covering labor, materials, equipment, removal and disposal of old sensors, installation, testing, descriptive literature demonstrating SOW compliance, proposed delivery timeline in days after receipt of order, contractor information including CAGE code and Unique Entity ID, and active SAM.gov registration. A mandatory site visit occurred July 28, 2026. Questions were due August 4. Amendment 0002, effective August 11, extended the due date to August 24 and incorporated current system specifications and Q&A. Contracting officers are Michael Treaster (michael.treaster@us.af.mil, 803-895-9197) and Motaz Irshid (motaz.irshid@us.af.mil).
