About this opportunity
The Department of Agriculture Forest Service Region 2–Rocky Mountain Region seeks removal and replacement of HVAC systems at Shadow Mountain Village in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest, with proposals due May 28, 2026, and questions due May 15, 2026 at 12:00 PM Mountain Time. The procurement is a Total Small Business Set-Aside procured as a commercial construction acquisition under FAR Part 12.
Place of performance is Granby, Colorado. The work includes removal and replacement of five furnaces with Lennox EL196UH070XE36B (or approved equal) series, 96% efficient units with variable speed constant torque blowers; four boilers with Peerless Boilers Series 63 Gas Boiler (or approved equal); eight large electric in-wall heaters; three small electric in-wall heaters; and ten baseboard electric heaters, each with programmable thermostats. The contractor supplies all labor, materials, equipment, freight, delivery, and all necessary valid licenses and permits. Period of performance runs July 1, 2026 through November 1, 2026, with work hours 0800–1700 Mountain Standard Daylight Time, Monday–Friday. A mandatory site visit is scheduled May 12, 2026 at 12:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time at 34 County Road 66, Grand Lake, Colorado 80447; interested parties must contact Juan Londono at juan.londono@usda.gov to confirm attendance. Award will be made to the offeror representing best value based on three factors: Experience and Past Performance (rated Acceptable, Neutral, or Unacceptable), Technical Approach (confidence ratings of High, Some, Low, or Neutral), and Price. The project requires the contractor to be responsible for supplying all labor, materials, equipment, miscellaneous items, freight, delivery, and all necessary valid licenses and permits required to complete the Shadow Mountain Village HVAC replacement located in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest. The contractor will be responsible for removing and replace all specified electric in-wall heaters and related components (including programmable thermostats) in houses at Shadow Mountain Village. Remove and replace five (5) furnaces with a Lennox EL196UH070XE36B (or approved equal) series, single stage, 96% efficient furnace with variable speed constant torque blower. Base work is to remove and replace four (4) boilers and sidearm water heaters with a Peerless Boilers Series 63 Gas Boiler (or approved equal).
Magnitude of Construction Between $100,000 and $250,000.
