About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is seeking qualified contractors to furnish and install an Environmental Control Air Handling Unit and associated cleanroom modification services at Tinker Air Force Base. The project involves installing a 25KW chilled water air handling unit with integrated controls and monitoring capabilities, an overhead ducted system with six diffusers, a high-speed fabric roll-up door, vacuum and compressed air ports, an eyewash station, and BACnet monitoring devices to track temperature, pressure, humidity, and particle count. The contractor must provide all labor, tools, equipment, materials, quality control, transportation, and inspection necessary to complete the upgrade to the Small Composite Cleanroom, while ensuring all services and components comply with Original Equipment Manufacturer specifications and relevant standards. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in this pre-solicitation notice, contractors should anticipate standard federal procurement evaluation practices for similar maintenance and repair projects. The Request for Quote is expected to post shortly after this notice, with a due date of April 14, 2026, and interested parties should monitor for the formal RFQ to submit their responses.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting participation to firms meeting the Small Business Administration's size standards for the applicable NAICS code 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors). No incumbent contractor or current award value is identified in this pre-solicitation notice. The project's specific scope includes installation of a unit measuring 54 inches wide by 31 inches deep by 74 inches high, featuring a 15KW electric reheat, 10 lb/hr steam humidifier, MERV 8 filters, and a 1-inch three-way modulating chilled water valve, along with associated infrastructure requiring integration with Tinker AFB's existing network and power systems. The Air Force will provide 460-volt, three-phase power supply connections within 25 feet for both the air handling unit and the high-speed door system. Contractors should prepare their qualifications and capabilities documentation to respond promptly when the formal RFQ is released, as this pre-solicitation notice serves as the official announcement period preceding formal solicitation.
