About this opportunity
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has issued a Special Notice regarding a planned Multiple Award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for the procurement of aluminum and steel boats for the United States Navy and Foreign Military Sales. This special notice is classified as a partial small business set-aside and serves as an advance notification to the contracting community. The notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201 and is intended to provide interested contractors with preliminary, high-level information about the Government's planning activities. NAVSEA is hosting a virtual Industry Day to facilitate this information sharing and industry engagement. It is important to note that this special notice does not constitute a formal solicitation and does not commit the Government to any contractual action.
The primary purpose of this special notice is to inform potential respondents about the upcoming contracting opportunity and to gather industry feedback before the formal solicitation is released. The virtual Industry Day is scheduled for December 10, 2025, at 1100 Eastern Standard Time via Microsoft Teams, with attendance being voluntary and not required for future participation. Interested contractors must submit written questions using the standardized Industry-Questionnaire template provided with this posting; questions submitted in other formats may not receive a response. The deadline for question submission is December 9, 2025. There are no specific eligibility restrictions mentioned for the Industry Day itself, though the contract opportunity is designated as a partial small business set-aside, which will likely impose size standards on contractors during the formal solicitation phase. Respondents are reminded that all information shared during the Industry Day is pre-decisional and subject to change, and they are responsible for properly marking any proprietary information or trade secrets in their submissions.
