About this opportunity
The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) intends to solicit a four-month specialized technical feasibility study to validate whether a patented high-efficiency magnetic field design can be adapted to optimize complex physical system dynamics, with capability statements from competing small businesses due September 15, 2026, and anticipated award by September 30, 2026.
This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The Government intends to award on a single-source basis to Forge Dynamics, LLC (CAGE: 1ZV00, Orlando, Florida), citing the firm's unique combination of technical expertise in high-gradient field modeling and exclusive licensing rights to the patented system architecture. Other qualified small businesses may compete by submitting detailed technical capability statements to Margaret Peterson (margaret.peterson.4@us.af.mil) or Gabrielle Dorsey (gabrielle.dorsey@us.af.mil) at AFNWC/NDKK, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, by September 15, 2026. The formal solicitation and Statement of Objectives will be provided to the intended source and any competing vendors who submit capability statements.
The contract will be awarded as firm-fixed-price, noncommercial, valued between $25,000 and the Simplified Acquisition Threshold, using FAR Part 13 simplified acquisition procedures. Work falls under NAICS 541715 (R&D in Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences) and PSC AC13 (National Defense R&D Services).
