About this file
This is a Presolicitation Notice for a four-month highly specialized technical feasibility study to validate whether a patented, high-efficiency magnetic field design can be adapted to manage and optimize complex physical system dynamics. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico is conducting this acquisition under solicitation number FA2360-26-P-0001. The contract is structured as a Total Small Business Set-Aside and will be awarded on a firm-fixed-price, noncommercial basis valued between $25,000 and the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT). The requirement falls under NAICS Code 541715 (Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences) and PSC Code AC13 (National Defense R&D Services).
The Government intends to conduct this acquisition as a single-source award to Forge Dynamics, LLC (CAGE: 1ZV00), located at 301 E Pine Street, Suite 1400, Orlando, Florida 32801, due to the firm's unique and exclusive capabilities in high-gradient field modeling combined with proprietary access to a patented system architecture. The acquisition is justified under RFO 13.101(b) as only one source is reasonably available to provide the required services. However, the notice invites other qualified small businesses to submit detailed technical capability statements by 15 September 2026 via email to Margaret Peterson (margaret.peterson.4@us.af.mil) or Gabrielle Dorsey (gabrielle.dorsey@us.af.mil) at AFNWC/NDKK. All necessary technical information, including the Statement of Objectives (SOO), will be provided in the formal solicitation. The anticipated award date is on or before 30 September 2026.
