About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District seeks to award a design-build contract to expand secure space within an existing intelligence facility at Camp Hansen in Okinawa, Japan. The project involves increasing secure space from 3,000 to 10,000 square feet by replacing HVAC, electrical, and telecommunications systems and constructing new offices. Interested vendors must have a minimum Top Secret facility clearance and identify two personnel to attend a required December 15, 2021 site visit. A two-phase solicitation process will first verify vendor capabilities and security clearance, followed by a full technical and price proposal evaluation, with award planned for no later than September 2022. Responses to the initial market research survey were due November 5, 2021.
The project value is estimated between $10-25 million. The NAICS code is 236220 for commercial and institutional building construction. No set-aside designation will be used. The procurement will utilize a two-phase RFP process to first verify facility clearances and personnel attendance at the anticipated December 15, 2021 site visit, followed by a full technical and price proposal evaluation leading to award no later than September 2022 for the design-build contract to expand the existing 31,255 square foot facility's secure space from 3,000 to 10,000 square feet.
