About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 19 seeks intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM) services at Salt Lake City VAMC, with quotations due September 18 and questions due September 14. The procurement is set aside 100% for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.
Place of performance is Salt Lake City, Utah. The contractor shall provide both normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM) and after-hours coverage with on-call technician response within 45 minutes, including certified technicians, equipment, instrumentation, and disposable accessories for neurophysiologic monitoring during spine surgery, neurosurgery, interventional neuroradiology, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, general orthopedic surgery, and otolaryngology procedures. The estimated caseload is 4–6 patients monthly, predominantly cervical spine and lumbar fusion cases averaging 2–4 hours, with fewer than 10 after-hours cases annually.
All contractor personnel must obtain board certification through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists and comply with VA credentialing and privileging requirements, current medical licenses and immunizations, mandatory federal and VA-specific training, HIPAA compliance, and security and data breach notification protocols. Contractors must comply with contractor rules of behavior including FIPS 140-2 encryption for VA sensitive information, information security training completion, and E-Verify requirements under Executive Order 12989.
The base performance period runs September 25, 2026, through August 31, 2027, with four optional one-year extensions through August 31, 2031. Pricing is firm fixed-price with line items per case: scheduled IONM cases (70–75 annually), IONM equipment (75–80 cases), stimulating probes (75–80 cases), and call-back services (5 cases). Wage Determination No. 15-5489 applies; fringe benefits include health and welfare at $5.92 per hour, paid vacation, twelve paid holidays, and uniform allowance. The NAICS code is 621399 with a $10 million size standard; PSC is Q510, Medical-Neurology. Amendment 0001, effective September 15, 2026, updated the price/cost schedule; offerors must acknowledge receipt prior to the deadline.
