About this opportunity
The 502d Contracting Squadron, operating under the Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command, issued a sole-source bridge contract modification to ensure continuity of fire suppression system maintenance services across Joint Base San Antonio locations, including Fort Sam Houston, Camp Bullis, and San Antonio Military Medical Center, from October 1, 2025 through March 31, 2026. The Government justified the non-competitive award under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) citing urgency and mission criticality, as any service interruption would pose direct risk to personnel safety and force the shutdown of 38 dining facilities, severely impacting mission operations. Accentz, Inc. (CAGE: 6G3R3) was awarded contract FA301626P0005 as the incumbent contractor, determined to be the only source capable of providing uninterrupted services given their existing mobilization and familiarity with the facilities. The contractor must provide all necessary personnel, tools, materials, equipment, and supervision to inspect, test, recharge, maintain, and repair fire suppression systems while holding State of Texas licensure and full system qualification. Prior to this bridge award, the Government conducted extensive market research including a Dynamic Small Business Search, Sources Sought posting, direct 8(a) contractor outreach, and capability meetings; however, negotiations with potential 8(a) contractors failed due to pricing and subcontracting concerns, and a Notice of Intent posting from January 15-20, 2026 generated zero responses.
