About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration is seeking statements of interest from qualified vendors for the Legacy Radar Electronics and Cabinet Disposition acquisition, with responses due by June 12, 2026 at 12 PM Central Time. The FAA may establish a limited competition pool from this solicitation and award a contract with or without further public announcements. This is not a set-aside procurement.
Scope covers removal, transportation, and disposition of approximately 612 legacy radar systems across 386 FAA sites nationwide, including U.S. territories (Guam, Puerto Rico, Alaskan Aleutian Islands, and the Bahamas). Equipment includes ASR-8, ASR-9, ASR-11, Mode-S, and other radar systems containing line replaceable units, circuit card assemblies, power supplies, cooling systems, and waveguide elements. Contractors must handle hazardous materials (dielectric oil) and radioactive materials (tritium) in compliance with RCRA, EPA regulations, and DOT transportation requirements, utilizing only R2-certified or e-Stewards-certified disposal facilities.
Period of performance runs from contract award through July 31, 2028. Estimated project value is $47 million (NAICS 562112; PSC F108). The FAA's preferred strategy is one Firm Fixed Price contract to a single vendor capable of performing nationwide; if infeasible, the FAA may pursue multiple IDIQ contracts or leverage existing GSA Federal Supply Schedules.
Contractors must deliver an Integrated Master Schedule within 5 days of award, Execution Planning Approach within 21 days, and monthly progress reports. Performance standards mandate 95% on-time schedule adherence, zero serious safety incidents, zero environmental violations, and zero property accountability discrepancies. Submit expressions of interest to erick.martinez-abril@faa.gov with company name, contact details, SAM.gov UEI, relevant experience, capabilities, and certifications. A revised Performance Work Statement was released June 9, 2026.
