The US Forest Service has a requirement for the reconstruction of Kyle Canyon Campground and Trails. The project is located in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Clark County, Nevada near Mount Charleston, NV. include This project consists of reconstructing an existing campground and converting it to a picnic area. Principle features of the work may include the obliteration and removal of existing roads, bridges, family units, paths, dumpster pads and all other items not previously removed by the Government. The construction and installation of asphalt roads, road bridges, water system, wastewater systems, electrical system, kiosks, bulletin board, pedestrian bridge, family units, dumpster pads, concrete paths, asphalt paths, unit markers, site furniture, and signs and the scarification, re-contouring, rehabilitation, and seeding of the disturbed areas. Site preparation for government-furnished comfort stations and entry station, including utility stub-ups, concrete sidewalks and curbs.
The solicitation will be advertised as Total Small Business Set-aside using best value source selection procedures. It is anticipated that a firm fixed price construction contract will be awarded to a single contractor. The estimated contract period of performance will not exceed 240 calendar days, with work starting in the Fall of 2012.
A site visit will be held on June 12, 2012. Driving directions and map to site visit will accompany this notice under separate attachment. Transportation to the site will not be provided; prospective contractors will provide their own transportation to and from the site. Contractors interested in attending the site visit should contact Charlene Byrd at 702-839-5561or email at cbyrd@fs.fed.us no later than 1200, Monday, June 11, 2012.
In accordance with FAR Part 36.204, the estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 237990.
Contractors are required to be actively registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) system and the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) prior to award.
A bid guarantee of 20% of the bid price shall be required and the successful offeror shall be required to submit Performance and Payment Bonds (100% each) of the construction cost prior to start work.
The solicitation will be posted on the FBO website on or about June 4, 2012. No hard copies of the solicitation, supporting document, or applicable amendments will be provided. To receive the entire solicitation package and any applicable amendments, prospective offerors must download them from the FBO website.
