KYLE CANYON PICNIC AREA PROJECT
SECTION 129350 - SITE FURNISHINGS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Type of furnishings includes:
1. Installation of Government furnished Trailside Benches and Interpretive Exhibits
B. Government furnished materials will be delivered to the site by the manufacturer and supplier.
It will be the Cont ractor’s responsibility to unload the m aterials. Contractor shall coordinate with the Contracting Officer on delivery dates/time and location for unloading and stockpiling of materials.
1.2 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
A. The quantity to be measured shall be as follows:
1. Trailside Concrete Bench and Interpretive Exhi bits with Pullouts: Number of concrete bench plus exhibit frame pair s installed and accepted. In stallation includes unloading, stockpiling, and transporting to installation locations, plac ing the benches and exhibit frames, and installing the interpreti ve exhibit fram es AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. This item also includes colored concrete pullouts (two concrete pads per bench/frame pair), aggregate base, excavation, backfill and all other work within 10 feet of the bench and exhibit.
2. Installation of Concrete Benc hes at Comfort Stations: Nu mber of concrete benches installed. Concrete shall be paid for under Section 033540 “Colored Concrete Sidewalk and Stairs.”
3. All concrete benches and interpretive exhibits will be government-furnished.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 CONCRETE TRAILSIDE BENCH - GOVERNMENT FURNISHED
A. Concrete Trail side benches will be government furnished and contractor installed
B. Benches – will be 7-foot long by 25.5-inches wide and 36-inches tall; colored concrete.
C. Concrete Trail Side Benches will be Model 408 Contour Bench with custom etching as manufactured by Outdoor Creations P.O. Box 50, Round Mountain, CA 96084 Ph: (530) 337- 6774.
2.2 INTERPRETIVE EXHIBIT PANELS AND FRAMES – GOVERNMENT FURNISHED
A. Interpretive exhibits will be government furnished and contractor installed.
2.3 CONCRETE

A. Concrete: Concrete shall conform to the re quirements of Secti on 033020 “Concrete From Packaged Dry Mix for Minor Structures”.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 INSTALLATION – TRAILSIDE BENCH
A. The benches shall be installed flat and pl umb. Ins tall the bench AS SHOWN IN THE DRAWINGS. The completed installation must be solid and stable. Any bench determined by the Contracting Officer to be loose or out of level shall be rem oved and reinstalled at no additional cost to the Forest Service.
B. The interpretive exhibits shall be installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
3.2 FINISH GRADING
A. All surfaces and slopes shall be shaped to blen d with the original groun d line, mounded over or smoothed off, hand raked, and left in a unifo rm and neat condition. Surface drainage shall be diverted so that it will not enter into the area. See drawings for details.
3.3 CLEANUP
A. After backfilling and gr ading has b een completed, the disturbed ar ea shall b e finished to present as near a natural appearance as pos sible and cleaned up by re moving all debris and materials not utilized. Cleanup sh all include disposal of wast e materials in accordance with Section 024100. Stockpiled topso il shall be smoothly distribute d over disturbed areas and hand raked to blend with ground line.
