About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 17, has issued a Special Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement to Xenex Disinfection Services Inc. The notice covers maintenance and repair services for sixteen Xenex Pulsed Xenon Broad Spectrum Ultraviolet Room Disinfection Robots located at two VA medical centers in Texas: the Olin E. Teague VA Medical Center in Temple and the Doris Miller VA Medical Center in Waco. The contract will be a firm-fixed price arrangement with a base year and four option years. Twelve robots will be serviced for the full contract period, while four robots will be serviced only for the base year. The procurement falls under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors about the VA's intent to award a sole-source contract to Xenex Disinfection Services Inc. for specialized UV robot maintenance and repair services. Interested parties have seven days from the notice's publication to submit capability statements to Sherine.Brooks@va.gov, which will be evaluated to determine if a more advantageous source exists. The VA is using statutory authority 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 13.5, to pursue this non-competitive procurement. Xenex is positioned as the sole authorized service provider, with the ability to maintain equipment warranty and functionality through their proprietary parts and certified technicians. A previous Sources Sought notice revealed no alternative vendors capable of meeting the specific technical requirements. If no affirmative responses are received within the seven-day window, the contract will be issued to Xenex Disinfection Services Inc. without further notice.
