About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, specifically the Veterans Integrated Service Network 1 located in Providence, Rhode Island, has issued a Special Notice for a sole source contract with Stryker Communications. The contract is for ProCare Services to maintain and support the operating room (OR) integration system at the Providence VA Medical Center. The procurement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, which allows for a sole source award when only one responsible source can satisfy agency requirements. The contract will be a firm-fixed price arrangement with a base year and two option years, covering the period from May 15, 2025, to May 14, 2028. Stryker Communications is being considered the sole source due to their status as the sole manufacturer of the specific OR integration system.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to provide comprehensive maintenance and support services for the Stryker OR integration system, ensuring continuous uptime and operational readiness. Contractors interested in being considered for the opportunity must submit detailed documentation demonstrating their qualifications by May 7, 2025, at 4:00 pm EST to kim.mccarthy@va.gov. While the VA is open to receiving alternative sources, the agency retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the requirement. The contract will cover a wide range of services, including providing all necessary labor, personnel, equipment, tools, and materials to perform onsite and remote maintenance services. The scope includes specific medical equipment such as camera control units, surgical displays, laparoscopes, and imaging systems. Contractors must adhere to VA regulations, including wearing visible identification, parking in designated areas, following smoking prohibitions, and complying with federal security standards. The total contract value will be under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $7.5 million.
