About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Technology Acquisition Center is seeking to procure a wireless Siemens InterMesh fire alarm monitoring system to replace the existing fiber-based system at the VA Dwight D. Eisenhower Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas. The key requirements include providing wireless mesh network equipment, antennas, surge protectors, cable assemblies, and fire alarm subscriber units. The contractor will be responsible for installation, configuration, testing, and training. Deliverables include a site survey, installation certification, test plan and results, training materials, and system drawings. The work must be completed within 30 days after award.

This is a total set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs), with limitations on subcontracting. Market research showed that Siemens and its authorized SDVOSB resellers are the only providers capable of delivering this proprietary system, which is required due to ongoing reliability issues with the existing fiber-optic based fire alarm monitoring system. The estimated award value is approximately $3,000,000, and offers are due by September 18, 2024 at 12:00PM ET.
