About this opportunity
The Special Notice announces an Industry Day event hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Portland District on January 22, 2026, at the District's headquarters in downtown Portland, Oregon. Published on November 13, 2025, with updates through February 3, 2026, this Special Notice is designed to inform businesses in the greater Oregon and Southwest Washington region about upcoming federal contract opportunities. The event brought together contractors, engineers, and service providers interested in competing for USACE work. Approximately 270 companies and organizations responded to the RSVP, demonstrating significant industry interest. The Portland District manages extensive infrastructure across the Pacific Northwest, including 22 dams, 14 harbors, 700 miles of federal navigation channels, and 132 recreation sites.
The Industry Day event provided comprehensive briefings on multiple major contract opportunities and strategic initiatives totaling billions of dollars in potential work. Key opportunities presented included the John Day Turbine Replacement and Generator Rewind Program (exceeding $500 million through 2051), Pile Dike Repair Program projects ranging from $10 million to $100 million across six sites, the White City Veterans Affairs Design-Build project ($260 million target ceiling), a Northwestern Division Design-Build MATOC with $99 million capacity as a small business set-aside, and various maintenance and infrastructure projects. Contractors attending received direct access to Contracting Officers, Project Managers, and specialized briefings covering cybersecurity requirements (CMMC compliance), construction administration practices, hydroelectric design expertise, and the new Federal Acquisition Regulation overhaul effective February 1, 2026. No specific eligibility restrictions were applied to event attendance; all interested businesses were invited to register and participate in networking and information-sharing activities. The event served as a pre-solicitation forum enabling firms to assess capability alignment with upcoming opportunities and establish relationships with government personnel responsible for contract administration.
